After G-dragon and Bigbang, Blackpink and CL are now listed in Forbes’ ’30 Under 30 Asia’ list.
On Tuesday, Forbes released their ’30 Under 30 Asia’ list recognizing people who are game-changers in their respective industries.
Blackpink and CL were revealed to be part of the list.
Acknowledging Blackpink as the “highest-charting female K-pop performer of all time on the Billboard 100” since debut, Blackpink’s Lisa said during an interview, “As a group with a multicultural background, we have the advantage of being able to speak language freely.”
Lisa also added, “”I think it is a great advantage when communicating with fans abroad as well as in Korea. Our music seems to be enjoyed by everyone regardless of race, age and gender.”
Meanwhile, Blackpink’s senior artist, CL who was the leader of YG Entertainment’s 2ne1, also made it to the list.
CL has always been recognized as one of the iconic artist in the Korean music industry. Her group 2ne1 left a legendary contribution to the K-pop industry as 2ne1 is the first K-pop girl group to hold a world tour.
Despite the fact that her group disbanded in 2016 and her hiatus, people still show their strong support for 2ne1 and CL’s solo activities.
From G-Dragon to Bigbang, and now Blackpink and CL, YG Entertainment is indeed a home for game-changers in the music industry as a whole, may it be in Korea or internationally.
