You face in front of the mirror and console yourself that this is just how it’s going to be; you will be forever heavy weight. But halt! Everything you have been told about losing weight might be wrong. It’s not just about exercise, calories, or even starving yourself. Losing a few pounds is, hold on, actually easy! Yeah, right! You probably would roll your eyes now because for the nth time you’ve been failing to reach your goal. Since when did you become a quitter? Life offers a bunch of chances and opportunities to start over again.

You don’t need to suffer. There’s a better way to, shall I say effortlessly lose weight. How? Well, first you have to understand that each and every one of us is uniquely shaped. We don’t come in the same size. The reason you should lose weight is not because you perceived others as petite and this is what is acceptable in the society, but because you want to be healthy and fulfilled without having insecurities.
So are you ready with your journey towards becoming fit? Here are tips that work well to almost everyone.

Low-carb Diet

By the term itself, a low-carb diet means you eat less carbohydrates and a higher proportion of fat. This is ideal to treat obesity. Foods high in easily digestible carbohydrates such as bread or pasta are replaced with foods containing higher percentage of fats and moderate protein such as meat, poultry, fish, nuts, and seeds. Low-carb diet is also used to treat or prevent some diseases and health condition like cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes.

Eat only when hungry

Admit it, you eat a lot. You eat often even when you’re not really hungry. The secret is to eat a balanced meal on a regular basis.

No to junk food [eat real food]

Junk food consumption leads to obesity, one of the main reasons for insulin resistance and development of diabetes. Yes, junk food can cause type 2 diabetes. When you consume junk food, excessive stress exerted on your metabolism affects the ability of your body to use insulin properly. This results in a spike in sugar levels. Junk food can also trigger digestive problems like GERD [Gastroesophageal reflux disease]. Most fatty junk foods are deep fried and the oil soaked in these foods get deposited on the stomach wall lining which increases acid production.

Avoid artificial sweeteners and soft drinks

There is a controversy surrounding the effects of artificially sweetened drinks. Studies show that regular consumption of artificially sweetened beverages reduces the intake of calories and promotes weight loss, but other research shows no effect, and some studies show weight gain. One concern though is that artificial sweeteners affect the body’s ability to measure how many calories are being consumed. Some studies support that sweeteners affect the brain in so many different ways. The brain responds to sweetness with signals to eat more, which causes one to crave more sweet foods and drinks adding up to excess calories.

Sleep more and have less stress

Sleep does a lot of wonders to our body. Sleep makes you feel better and is a key part of a healthy lifestyle. It can benefit your weight, heart, mind, and more. Researchers at the University of Chicago found that people who were well rested lose more fat than those who were sleep deprived, who lost more muscle mass. You also tend to feel hungrier when you got less sleep.

Be determined

Losing weight is about determination. You get to have the drive to pursue with your plan and goal. Don’t be a quick starter and quick quitter.

Love yourself

I guess this is the most important one in your journey towards fitness and losing weight- love yourself. Even if you get sexy and all but if you don’t love yourself truly, you will end up wanting for something you can never really have.
