Okay fellow fans — the so-called “2D1N curse” is trending again. Two recent incidents involving celebrities tied to the KBS2 variety show 2 Days & 1 Night have reignited debate over the program’s rocky history with scandals.
Quick context: the show’s current regular cast includes Kim Jong Min, Moon Se Yoon, DinDin, Lee Joon, Yoo Seong Ho, and Jo Se Ho. Here’s what’s happening with the two who’ve been in the headlines:
Jo Se Ho — alleged ties to a gang member
An Instagram account (@exorcist_poy) posted photos of Jo Se Ho with a man identified as Choi I Dong, who is alleged to be part of a major organized crime group in the Geoje area. The accuser claims Jo promoted a franchise owned by that figure and received luxury gifts in return. Jo’s agency, A2Z Entertainment, denies the claims, calling them false and saying the two are “just acquaintances.” The production team for 2 Days & 1 Night confirmed that filming on Dec. 5–6 took place and that they are monitoring the situation closely.

Park Na Rae — management dispute and medical-practice allegations
Comedian Park Na Rae, who has guested on 2 Days & 1 Night in the past, is facing legal action from former managers who filed a provisional seizure request against her real estate. The managers allege verbal abuse, unpaid hosting fees, and other mistreatment while working at Park’s one-person agency. Park’s side pushed back, accusing the ex-managers of misconduct and exposing alleged wrongdoings.
Separately, Dispatch reported that Park received paid medical procedures at a non-medical officetel in Ilsan — which could violate Korea’s medical law. Amid the fallout, Park posted a personal statement on Dec. 8 announcing a hiatus.

Not the first time — why fans call it a “curse”
Jo Se Ho and Park Na Rae aren’t the first names linked to controversy after appearing on 2 Days & 1 Night. The show has seen multiple high-profile departures over the years following scandals — most notably Jung Joon-young, who left amid the 2019 chatroom scandal. That history is why any new controversy tends to get amplified among fans and netizens.
- 2 Days & 1 Night is a long-running KBS2 travel-variety show that first premiered in 2007.
- The format combines travel challenges, games and overnight missions, and the cast has changed several times over the years.
- High-profile controversies have led the show to replace members or pause activities in the past (e.g., Jung Joon-young’s 2019 exit).
As a fan, I want transparency and fairness — it’s tough watching people we like get dragged through public controversies, but we also want accountability if there’s wrongdoing. For now, production says they’re monitoring Jo Se Ho’s situation and Park has announced a break.
