IU’s most recent drama ‘My Ahjussi’ is under controversy for an assault scene depicting IU being hit by a loan shark, who turns out to be a prominent character in the story plot. The viewers, some of them at least, express their discomfort at the scene; with some branding it as ‘dating violence’. Although IU, who plays the role of Lee Ji-An – the main lead, has confirmed that the drama won’t be having any love line, viewers are still unconvinced.
Under scrutiny
Korea Communications Standards Commision has revealed that they’ll be investigating the problematic scene. The production team of the drama has denied the dating violence accusation and said the scene was necessary for the plot.
