It certainly has been a busy year for Bangtan Boys. The South Korean boy group has snatched prestigious awards during the 2016 year-end music awards, and now, they aim for an even greater award, Billboard Music Awards! Since it was announced that Bangtan Boys are nominated for the Top Social Artist award, countless fans have shared posts with the hashtag #BTSBBMAs. As the result, the hashtag trended #1 worldwide on Twitter. Not only that, fans have encouraged fellow K-pop fans to vote for BTS and stream their music videos in order to increase the odds of having BTS as the winner. Popular American media, New York Times, also wrote quite an interesting piece on BTS, highlighting their success. Reportedly, BTS earned as much as $2 million from their two-day concerts, and the unprecedented success also surprises the members and the management. The fans’ enthusiastic cheering is enough as a proof of BTS’ overseas impact. And so it wouldn’t come as a surprise if BTS were to win the Top Social Artist award on Billboard this year. We’ll just have to wait and see!
