YouTube officially released their announcement congratulating Blackpink for gaining more than 56,700,000 views in the first 24 hours after its release.
Beating Ariana Grande’s 55,400,000 views for “Thank You, Next,” Blackpink just proved that they’re indeed the revolution!
Aside from the views, Blackpink has also beaten Ariana Grande’s record for the fastest music video to receive 1 million likes! Blackpink achieved it in just 30 minutes since the release of the song!
Recently, Ariana Grande revealed that she’s planning to meet Blackpink next week as both phenomenal artists are set to perform at the world’s most popular music event, Coachella!
Blackpink also surpassed PSY’s record for the fastest music video to reach 100 million views!
Blackpink achieved it in just 2 days and 14 hours. However, this is still an unofficial number since YouTube hasn’t revealed the actual hours yet. PSY’s record was 2 days and 18 hours for his viral song “Gentleman.”
PSY’s “Gentleman” was also released when PSY was still under YG Entertainment.
