Oily skin is one of the most common skin problem that most of us face today. I know how hard it is to keep it under control given that I too suffer from this. I used to put on a lot of anti-shine products and probably tried all mattifying products in the market but keeping oily skin under control starts with your skincare regimen. Here are 3 natural beauty tips that worked for me and while this might not work for everybody, it’s worth a try! 🙂
- Washing your face is the number one step that you should focus on. Use a facial wash/cleanser that is made for oily skin. But don’t overdo it or your skin will just produce more oil. Use toner and a moisturizer that mattifies your skin as well. My simple tip on putting on toner is to first use a cotton pad to take off dirt or oil that’s deep-seated and sweep it gently on my face (don’t pull your skin!) and then I put some toner on my palm and dab it gently so my skin will absorb it. I put on my moisturizer afterwards.
- Use an orange peel mask twice a week. You can make this at home by drying out an orange peel and then grind it until it becomes powder form. Mix it with water or you can also use rose water. Apply it on your face and leave for 15-20 minutes. So why is orange peel effective for controlling oil? It is because oranges contain citric acid that helps control excess oil. 🙂
- Most people with oily skin have open pores as well. One of the remedies for this problem is to use tomato paste to remove excess oil and tighten your pores too. You can mash a fresh tomato and apply it on your face. Let it stay for 30 minutes and rinse off. Doing this at least twice a week will help you control your oily skin.
I hope these tips help you as it did mine! 🙂
