Blackpink to make history as the first ever female K-pop group to perform at U.S. biggest music festival, Coachella.

 

Coachella surprised everyone as they revealed that Blackpink will be performing for the first time in the U.S. at Coachella on April 12 and 19, 2019.

Right after the announcement, Blackpink trended worldwide at no.2 on Twitter while Coachella at no.1.

According to the source, Paul Tollett— the mastermind and founder of Coachella, flew all the way to South Korea to personally meet and invite Blackpink to perform at Coachella 2019.

Indeed, an honor to be personally invited by the founder of Coachella, YG Entertainment and Blackpink agreed to Paul Tollett’s invitation.

Officially, Blackpink will make their debut in the U.S. at the pregious music festival in the world, Coachella.

Other global artist who will perform in the event will be Ariana Grande, Zedd, DJ Snake, YG, Bazzi, Wiz Khalifa, Childish Gambino and more.

Hopefully, we’ll get to see more interaction of Blackpink with other western artists and expect more collaborations in the future!

The first K-pop group/artist who performed at Coachella was the former YG Entertainment’s hip-hop group, Epik High.

Indeed, YG Entertainment’s groups are representing K-pop to the world and continue to make history in Korea’s music industry.
