Artist of The Year and Album of The Year
Mnet’s year-end music award show MAMA wrapped up its 3-day ceremony today at Hong Kong. The award show, which was dubbed ‘the least credible award ceremony’ earlier this year, struggled with viewers’ rating during the Japan leg of the ceremony, but the finale was considerably more popular with groups like EXO, BTS, Red Velvet, and Sunmi as well as Taemin joining the line-up. The Daesang for this year went to BTS (Artist of the Year) and EXO (‘The War’ snatched Album of the Year)
Controversy
The award-show hasn’t proved why it is not the ‘least credible award show’, as we can see on how messy the award distribution was this year. While EXO won in all voting category (the voting holds bigger portion this year), some awards were, surprisingly, given to the other artists.
